BUTTERY, Robert Milton "Bob"
Gone Fishing in Heaven. On July 2, 2025 at St.Catharines Hospital in his 89th year, Bob entered his eternal rest. Bob is survived by his lady in red, the love of his life for 50 years, Leronna ( nee Fuchs). Cherished Dad of Charlie Buttery (2018), Levi Buttery (1999), Marlene "Molly" Lewis Cronk (Dan) and Amanda Buttery Lawson (Michael). Loving Papa 7 grandchildren: Charlie Jr (Shannon), Jimmy (Amber), Joseph (Erika), Marshall, Allan (Tammy), April (Jason) and Graciela. 13 Great Grandchildren: Haley, Jaylyn, Alyson, Jayson, Ariel (Antwon), Aaliyah, Allana, Taylor, Aiden, CJ, Abigail, Braxton and Raziel. And 2 great-great Grandchildren, Antwon and Marianna. Much loved "Uncle Bobby" to several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a kind and gentle soul, a hardworking and devoted family man. He loved fishing and his 56 Chevy Truck. Bob's secret to life "Coffee and a Donut a day". Born on August 25, 1936. Born and raised in Lewiston, NY the 9th of 10 children born to Frank and Grace (Nickerson) Buttery. Bob is predeceased by his parents, siblings and 2 sons. Bob served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. Bob worked many jobs including farming and construction, retired after 32 years at GM Harrison Delphi in Lockport NY. Bob was a long time, active member of Faith Ev Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, on family vacations and many, many fishing trips. He took pride in his flower gardens and handy work projects. He never missed a chance to go fishing. Special thank you to Niagara EMS, NHS ER and 2A staff, Dr Raptes and Dr Lejnieks for their excellent care and compassion.
Bob's kindness and gentle soul will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Bob is resting at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. St. Catherines. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7th from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 11am at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 Agar D., St. Catharines. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Bob's request was for everyone to wear bright colors to his celebration of life. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church appreciated by his family.
