Obituary of Violet Joan Michlik
MICHLIK, Violet 'Vi' - With great strength and in the quiet way she lived, Violet peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday June 28, 2025 at 5:04 p.m. She is survived by her beloved husband Milan, her adored children Karen, Darren (Sharon) and Mike. Her grandchildren were the light of her life; Amanda (Jeremy), Kailee (Kavan), Shannon, Lucas and her great-grandchildren Easton, Odin, Colter, Ada. Violet is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Werstroh, siblings John (Marie), Lena (Cornie), Henry, Katie (Peter), Ernie, brothers-in-law Joe (Donna), Carl, sisters-in-law Tina, Rita, Helen, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom were fortunate to be the recipients of her unconditional love. Violet was born in Glenbush, Saskatchewan, growing up on the farm, sharing many adventures with her siblings. At the age of 17, she moved to Ontario where she spent many years working at Ferranti Packard and made many life-long friends. In later years her grandchildren were blessed to be showered with her love and attention every day. Violet will be remembered for her compassion, kindness and profound sense of humour, her incredible baking, cooking, her gardens and all things Christmas. She treasured family gatherings or any occasion to be celebrated. Violet was always sharing her treats and pies with family and friends. Violet was a faithful member of St. Alfred Church. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at St. Alfred Church for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated Thursday July 3, 2025 at 11 am. The Rite of Committal will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In memory of Violet, memorial contributions may be made to The St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Alfred Church), and would be appreciated.
