Obituary of Signar Cecil Emilson

EMILSON, Signar 'Cecil' - Passed away peacefully at West Hills Care Centre on Thursday June 26, 2025 at the age of 89. Predeceased by his former spouse and dear friend Catharine (nee Pothier, 2019). Cherished father of Yvonne (the late Martin, 2023), Dianna, the late Kenneth (2005), Dana (Jackie), Charlene and loving grandfather of Carrie Lynne, Claire (Chris), Yolanda, Neil, Jordan, Kathleen (Justin), Jeff (Teresa), Josh, Ryan (Emily), the late Dominic (2013), Chantal. Dearly loved great-grandfather of the late Dustin (2000), Ireland, Kaley, Cody, Kristen, Adryen, Brooklin, Kylii, Bella, Charlii, Hannah, Holly, Hailey, Dallas, Paige, Gracie and great-great-grandfather of Kaidyn, Charlotte, Miles and a baby girl due in September. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Sadie, Bernice, Gordan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Johan 'Fred' and Signa and siblings Stan, Charles, Signar, Bruce, Beatrice, Igna. The family wishes to express their gratitude to West Hills Care Centre, especially nurses Colleen, Rhemia, PSWs Emerson, Jessica, Cathy, Rosemarie, Maria, Sheila, the kitchen and housekeeping staff and all the friends Cecil made over the years. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, visiting Friday July 4, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Committal will take place at a later date in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In memory of Cecil, memorial contributions may be made to Canadian Blood Services, The Niagara Health Foundation (Walker Family Cancer Centre) or Therapy Tails Ontario.
