Obituary of Frances Adele Bernais

BERNAIS, Frances ‘Fran’ (nee Dutka) – Passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home on Monday June 16, 2025 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Edward Bernais (1987) and loving mother of Carolynn (Wayne) Holderney, Marylee Nichols. Loving grandmother Sandra (Todd) Fenwick, Kevin Holderney (Stephanie Demo), Katie (Rick) Young and great-grandmother of Sophia, Emily. Frances worked for many years at Brewer’s Retail, until her retirement in 1996. Frances really enjoyed spending time with her 2 great granddaughters. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the caregivers who provided exceptional care to Frances, specifically CarePartners, CBI, Dr. Shultz, as well as his team Pauli and Lina. Friends are invited to join the family at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, visiting Friday June 20, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held at 1 pm at the funeral home. The Rite of Committal will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband.
