
Obituary of Joe Fegan
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joe Fegan (Denis Joseph) at the age of 60 on June 12th, 2025 after a lengthy illness of melanoma.
Joe leaves behind his loving life partner Lisa (House), his loving children Amanda (Brandon), Christopher & Brittany. Stepfather to Brett Carpenter (Tracey) & Bryce Carpenter (Samantha).
Joe is a very proud Grandpa to Gage, Bridget, Scarlette, Gavin, Blake & Sterling. Of the six siblings, Joe is the eldest and will be greatly missed by Mary (Mark Maslink), Sean, Michael & Kathy (Kevin Legros).
Predeceased by his father Michael Sr (2002), mother Catherine "Kathleen" (2004), youngest brother Kevin (2006), sister-in-law Cindy (2019), father-in-law Dale House (2023) & brother-in-law, Brian House (2020).
Joe is the proud Uncle to Kelly (Rob Scott), Colin, Marisa (Hadyn Place), Katrina (Ewen Eaton), Tyler, Kaitlyn, Michael, Connor, Megan, Stacey (Steve Winger), Corie (Jay Bonazza), Natasha, Alicia & Brier and great Uncle to Owen
Joe will be missed by his Mother in-law Donna House, Sister in-law Jo-Anne (Kelly) Rittenhouse, brother In-Law Randy (Diane) House and sister in-law Debbie House.
Joe was born in Luton England and immigrated from Ireland to Canada with his parents and siblings in 1968.
Joe spent his many working years in the IT Computer field, his last 10 working years he spent with his other family at Manulife.
Joe alongside his brothers volunteered countless hours for many years in St. Catharines CYO hockey. His roles included boys’ coach, girls’ coach, parish leader and executive member. Joe was president of St. Catharines CYO from 1997 to 2002.
In 1999 Joe along with his good friend Rick Jones created a program for special needs hockey in Niagara allowing people ages 5 to 50 to play the game of hockey. Rick continues running this program to this day,
Joe, Lisa and family wish to thank Dr Linda Lee of The Walkers Family Cancer Centre, nurse Nicole and all staff at the Walker Family Center, Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital and Hospice Niagara for all their care and compassion over these last few years.
The Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St on Monday, June 16th from 6 - 8pm. Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral Liturgy for Joe will be celebrated Tuesday morning, June 17 at 11am in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 31 Chestnut St South, St. Catharines. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers it is Joe's request that you donate to Autism Niagara, Canadian Cancer Society, Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital and Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines.
