Obituary of Caroline Reynolds
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Mum, Caroline
(Carol) Reynolds on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. She is survived by her children Rob (Kelly), Becky (Dan), and by ‘her babies’ and apples of her eye, granddaughters Maggie and Evvy. Being a Grammy was truly the joy of her life, and nothing made her happier than being with her family. Carol is also survived by her sisters Linda, Wendy (Janko), Sally, and brothers David and Michael, and their respective families, as well as many much loved friends who became family.
Carol was born in Sussex, England (East Grinstead) to parents Jack and Molly Easton. The family immigrated to Canada in November of 1956, eventually settling in Hamilton to begin their new life.
Growing up, she participated in track and field, fostered a love of art and painting, and a great number of shenanigans with her sisters at home. While raising two small children, Carol poured herself into her art, creating a great many paintings, her favourites being seascapes and nature. This love of nature led her to travelling with her sisters and friends, or cozying up to National Geographic and the Discovery channel to learn more about the world, its people, and all of its fascinating creatures. A self proclaimed ‘Trekkie’, our Mum loved all things science fiction, fantasy and adventure, and could also be found binge watching anything from the Lord of the Rings or Jurassic Park franchises.
Mum was fiercely independent, and over the years figured out how to fix just about anything around the house or yard. Though not tech savvy, she tried, and if beyond her efforts relied on the line ‘I don’t do appliances’ as her solution. She was a fabulous cook, and loved to prepare delicious meals, holiday feasts or elaborate snacks for family and friends who visited. Mum has been a fine example of strength, courage and determination over the years, all the while keeping a smile on her face, and maintaining a wonderful sense of humour. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know and love her.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St on Wednesday May 28th from 11am. A Final Tribute will follow in the Ceremony Room at 1pm. If so desied donation made to Crohn'sand Colitis Canada or Therapy Tails in Carol's memory would be appreciated by her family.
