Obituary of Antoinette Main
With heavy hearts, but gratitude and happiness for a long life, we are saddened to share that Antoinette “Ann” Main passed away on May 15, 2025 at the age of 90 with her sons by her side. Beloved wife of Rudy Main. Loving mother of sons Mario Causarano and Patrick Causarano (Kathy). Grandmother of Derek (Karen), Bryan (Eric), Natalie (Nick), Jason (Britney) and Danielle (James). Great-grandmother of Parker, Ari and Lana. Aunt and great-aunt to Tony (Valerie, predeceased by Rose), Christopher, Sarah and Emma. Predeceased by her sisters Rose Benson, Victoria Darmanin, Rita Taliana, brother Joseph Bereau, father Isidore Bereau, and mother Jeanne Zammit. She will be missed by Joanie, many nieces and nephews, Maria Grazia, who all loved her dearly, and extended family and friends.
Antoinette was a vivid storyteller who often described her years growing up in Alexandria, Egypt, raising her sons in Rome, Italy, and her immigration story to London, Ontario. Her mind was razor-sharp and she spoke five languages. She first worked as an operating room assistant at Victoria Hospital, and then for many years at Nortel Telecommunications to support her family. She was an amazing mom and grandmother who loved to cook (no one went home hungry or without leftovers) and take care of people. She was an avid reader and card player and made friends wherever she went.
Special thank you to Dr. J and all the nursing staff of Royal Henley Retirement Home who took great care in looking after her and making her as comfortable as possible, as well as all the other staff who went out of their way to make each day pleasant for her.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Details on her funeral service will be forthcoming. If desired, donations to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at https://ssvp.ca/ would be appreciated.
