Benard, Beverley Mona Jean (nee Coles)
At Westhills Care Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, Beverley passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
Dearly loved wife of Rheal Benard of 55 years. Mother of four children and their spouses, Benjamin and Rhonda Benard, Raymond and Heidi Benard, Drew and Elisa Benard and Kate Augustus and Gabriel Moreira.
Grandmother to 8 dearly loved grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents, Ben and Beatrice Coles, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Doug Laister, sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Cliff Skeoch, sister Patricia Feere, brother and sister-in-law John (Bud) and Vera Coles, grandson Benjamin Benard and dearest lifelong friends, Donna and Britt Ford.
Survived by her dear brother, Robert (Bob) Coles and sister-in-law Maureen, and brother-in-law Frank Feere. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Beverley was born in Cobalt, Ontario. She moved with her family to St. Catharines in 1941. She met the love of her life at St. Catharines Collegiate in 1951 and married him in 1957. She loved her large family most of all, and was blessed with many great neighbours. Bev loved gardening, oil painting, sewing, quilting, the outdoors and partying! Many, many parties were held over the years on Hanson Drive.
Bev travelled all over the U.S. and Canada, The British Isles and most major European cities. Beverley lived a full and happy life with no regrets.
A time of gathering and remembrance will be held at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Saturday, May 24th at 4pm. Beverages and light fare will be served during the visiting time from 5-6pm. If so desired donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Bev's memory would be appreciated by her family.
The family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Westhills for the care our mother received over the last several years, and the show of respect with the honour guard tribute at mom's departure. Thank you!
