Obituary of George Robert Blower
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George on Sunday, April 20 2025 at NHS-St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 61. Predeceased by his parents, George and Millicent (Millie) Blower. Beloved brother to Janet (Paul) and Connie (Mark). Loving uncle to Charlene (Dave), Beverley (Jason), Carrie-Ann (Ryan), Joey and Tyler (Alyssa). Great uncle to Justin (Brittany), Ryan (Katrina), Brookelynn, Stephanie, Ellie and Owen. Great-great uncle to 6 nieces and nephews.
George was an avid newspaper reader. He would read the entire Globe & Mail daily from front to back. He didn't miss a single article. He enjoyed Vintage cars and had a long-standing subscription to Old Autos. George was a forever loyal Toronto Maple Leafs fan, waiting patiently for the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Garden City Manor for their compassionate care and support during the 19 years that George resided at the nursing home. A very special thank you to the Decew House staff for their kindness, friendship and dedication to George's care over the years.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at Victoria Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday May 6, 2025 beginning at 11:30am. If desired, please consider memorial donations to Autism Society of Ontario or Canadian Mental Health Association (Niagara).
