
Obituary of Frank Koch
Frank Koch passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday April 19th 2025 at the age of 91. Loving husband of Gertrude for 67 years. Pre deceased by parents Frank and Mary Koch brother Michael (Teresa), nephew Jimmy, sisters-in-law Mary (Alfred), Carmel (Michael). Left to mourn his passing his sisters-in-law Marion (Edward deceased), Patricia and many nephew’s, nieces, grand-nephew’s and grand-niece’s.
Born in Hungary in 1934, Frank emigrated to Canada at age 14 and settled in Welland. He was a man of great integrity and was very avid gardener and golfer. He took great pride in his engineering career. Frank was an employee of Proctor and Redfern Engineering for 40 years and will be remembered as a mentor to his younger colleagues.
Frank was a chartered member of the Bufalo Bills Mafia and a long-suffering fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Gertrude and Frank traveled extensively over the years especially to Gertrude’s home in Newfoundland and enjoyed many trips to Florida and Europe.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the members of the Knights of Columbus for their visits during Frank’s illness. Special thanks also to the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 24th from 6-8pm with vigil prayers at 7pm. A funeral Mass will be held the following day, Friday, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Alfred Church 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines. Following the Mass guests are invited to the George Darte Funeral Home Kristen French Hall for refreshments and fellowship.
Donations in Frank’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
