Dorothy Victoria Fryer (nee Flint) R.N.
Dorothy passed away after a brief time spent at Niagara Health - Marotta Family Hospital, St. Catharines, on Friday March 28, 2025 in her 77th year. Dorothy, loving wife of John Fryer (deceased). Cherished mother of Tricia Giammarco (Fryer). Loving and devoted grandmother of Cameron Giammarco. Dear sister of Diana Romanyk (Bohdan); loving aunt of Conan, Alice, Shannon, Donovan, and Heather Romanyk. Known to many as Kiki.
Dorothy was born and raised in the West Toronto Junction area where she lived with her parents and grandparents. In her early life she was an avid Boy Scout Leader, a Sea Ranger and Sunday School teacher at Victoria Presbyterian Church. She obtained her Nursing Degree at the Northern College in Timmins. After meeting John, she developed an interest in professional roller skating and they spent many hours at the Terrace Roller Rink in Toronto where John was a teacher. They eventually moved to St. Catharines and Dorothy continued her long nursing career at the Hotel Dieu Shaver until her retirement. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed many hobbies which included needlework, gardening, sewing roller skating outfits for competition, and caring for her family, as well being apart of The Royal Canadian Legion for the last 5 years.
Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses who cared for her throughout her illness.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Final Tribute for Dorothy will be held in the Ceremony Room of the funeral home Friday morning at 11am. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations made to the Lincoln County Humane Society or Therapy Tails in Dorothy's memory would be appreciated by her family.
