Obituary of Debbie Ann Ramnarain
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Debbie Ann Ramnarain, a beloved wife of 39 years, mother, sister, and friend, who left us on March 27, 2025, at the age of 58. Debbie was a cherished member of the St. Catharines community, where she made her home after emigrating from her birthplace of Piarco Village, Trinidad & Tobago.
Debbie was predeceased by her loving parents, Violet and Lalla Karran, and leaves behind her devoted husband, Lallbahadur Ramnarain. Together, they raised five wonderful children: Josh, Aleisha, Ganesh, Jayesh, and Robby, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was also a cherished sister to Gloria, Tyrone, Judy, Janet, Mureen, Clive, Renison, Merle, Lincoln, Suzan, and Trudy, with whom she shared a close bond of love and support.
A woman of great warmth and generosity, for 30 years Debbie dedicated much of her heart and home to children in need as a foster parent and welcomed exchange students, offering them a sense of belonging and love.
Debbie’s vibrant spirit shined through everything she did. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking, singing, shopping, watching soap operas, and cherishing time with loved ones. The beach was her happy place, where she found peace and joy. Debbie was always one to carry herself with grace, keeping her makeup flawless, her hair beautifully styled, and her wardrobe up to date.
A devoted member of her church, Debbie’s faith guided her as she sang in the worship group and served with love. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, deep family bonds, and unwavering faith, her warmth and light forever cherished by those who knew her.
There will be a visitation held at George Darte Funeral Home on April 1st, 2025 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Followed by a service the next day on April 2nd, 2025 at 11:00am to celebrate Debbie’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Diabetes Canada.
Debbie’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Her love, generosity, and radiant spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
The family warmly invites you to join them in celebrating and honoring Debbie's life at her visitation and funeral. Details are provided below. Following the service, all are welcome to a reception at Debbie's home. The address will be shared at the funeral.
