Obituary of Barbara Jane Lockwood

Barbara Jane Lockwood passed peacefully, and poetically, in her sleep in this year’s spring equinox.

Survived by her son, Danny (Debbie) and daughter, Lisa (Larry). Predeceased by her loving husband, Leonard, father Tom McClure, mother Dora Edith, brothers Bill (Margaret) and Don (the late Norma), her Aunt Jenn, son-in-law Rick and grandson, Michael. Was much loved by her grandchildren. In particular, the many visits from her latest great-granddaughter Fia, who would light up the Royal Henley Retirement Home with style and charm.

Her family is so grateful to all the staff at Henley for their generous and loving care these past four years.

Also, a special thanks to the cardiac care unit at St. Catharines General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

Kindness and caring would be at the root of Barbara’s soul.

In her words… “Don’t worry about me, I’ve had a great life, but I’m ready to go.” We’ve all had a great life because of you, Barbara Jane.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Donations made in memory of Barb would be appreciated by the family to a charity of your choice.
