Obituary of Olga Yvonne Kita

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olga Yvonne Kita (Baba), of St. Catharines, Ontario, at the age of 87 years old. Olga passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the St. Catharines hospital. Olga was predeceased by her husband (Stanley), parents (John and Molly Yarmola), and sister (Annie Yarmola). She is survived by her children, Mark (Paula) Kita, and Cathy (Todd) Langelaan. Loving grandmother to Jennifer (Alex) James, Kristi Kita, Matthew (Jennifer) Langelaan, and Nicole (Eric) Langelaan. Olga will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Max, Charlie, Harper, and Noah.  

Lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Jeane Kline (Eddie), Christine and the late Bernie Golchuk (2018), and Mary Ann and the late Andy Kita (1999).

Predeceased by her brother-in-law Joe Kita (1989) and the late Evelyn Kita (2016).  Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Olga loved her family and enjoyed cruising around town in her Cadillac. She would frequent different Tim Hortons in the Niagara region, and many local delicatessens in Niagara and Hamilton. She was a 25 year employee of General Motors, worked in the Quality Control Department, and enjoyed retirement since 2002. Also, Olga worked at the Fullerton Law Firm prior to having kids and she was also part owner of Kita’s Bakery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. The family welcomes guests for a time of visitation at the funeral home on  Wednesday March 26, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home ceremony room. Burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
