Obituary of Donald Robert Theal
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Donny at the St. Catharines General Hospital on March 8, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Theal (nee Krasovec) and his children Shane and Carson. Loving son of Ronald and Shirley Theal. Brother of Dennis (Sandra) and Patrica (John) Wilson. Loving uncle of Kevin, Andrew, Tracey, Kyle, and Tanner. Predeceased by his brothers David and Douglas, as well as his nephew Matthew.
Donny, while cleaning off the ice on his work truck in 2016, fell through a tarp and became a T3 paraplegic. Despite his serious injuries and constant pain, he never let his accident define him. In addition to driving again, he continued to pursue his passions for cooking and gardening. He was still out there edging his grass in his
wheelchair and took pride in his property. He spent many hours working on dirt bikes, ATVS, lawnmowers, and snowblowers. He still took part in any household repairs that he could accomplish, and I can't wasn’t an option. Getting on the wheelchair became a competition among his three cats, who loved to jump on his lap and ride. The last 2 years of his life were rocky, and he was no longer able to participate in the activities he treasured. Donny was a fighter and fought until the end. He is now pain-free.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, ON. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Final Tribute will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the George Darte Ceremony Room beginning at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. There will be a time of fellowship following the interment at St. Andrew's Chyrch, 24 Clairmont St, Thorold.
