Obituary of Robert John Winters
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert John Winters on March 5, 2025, at the Marotta Family Hospital in St. Catharines. Born on October 4, 1929, Robert lived a remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that touched all who knew him.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mavis, in 2015, with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage. A devoted and loving father, he leaves behind his children, Robert "Bob" (Elizabeth) "Liz" and Joanne predeceased by Michael, Lynda (Gary) who will forever cherish his guidance and unconditional support. And his memory will live on in the hearts of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Melissa (Matt) Klassen, Bryan Winters (Stephanie) Michelle (Ian) Adamson, Diana (Dave) Wilson, Jennifer (Kevin) MacGillivary, Kaitlin, Ryan, Kathryn (Clayton) Worsfold, Aiden, Preston, Quentin, Nate, Liam, Mikey, Gabriel, Noah & Paisley.
Robert was deeply involved in his church community, where he found joy and purpose in fellowship at the hall. He loved mentoring and teaching children at Agape Bible Camp, sharing his wisdom and nurturing young minds. A selfless man, Robert spent time volunteering at Linhaven, where Mavis resided, ensuring her days were filled with love and comfort.
Robert was deeply involved in his church community, where he found joy and purpose in fellowship at the hall. Cold winters in Canada were often spent in Arizona, where Robert relished sunny days on the golf course. Despite his busy and fulfilling life, he always made time for one of his favorite traditions—a Swiss Chalet dinner, a simple pleasure that brought him joy.
Known for his warm heart, sharp sense of humor, and boundless energy, Robert inspired everyone he met. His memory will remain a guiding light in the lives of those who loved him.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of the Marotta Family Hospital. A celebration of Robert’s life will take place at Scottlea Gospel Church 500 Scott Street, St. Catharines ON L2M 3X2 on March 12th, 2025 beginning at 11:00am-12:30pm followed by a service at 12:30-1:00pm and fellowship 1:00pm-2:00pm And a burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery at 2:30pm. donations to Agape bible camp would be appreciated, reflecting Robert’s generosity and spirit of service.
Forever in our hearts, Robert will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
