My husband and I met Walter and Gertrude on a Bahamas cruise. Right away, we were drawn in by his vibrant personality. My favorite moment was his guidance on how to make a smoker with a cardboard box - very cleaver and funny. We are saddened to hear of his passing. May you find peace during this time.

My condolences to the family. I got to know Walter through construction as I worked for the company that expanded Central Gospel Church. He also did several masonry jobs for me in later years. He was a wonderful man whom I got to know quite well and admired greatly. He will be deeply missed by all.

I did not know Walter well, but my husband did. A great little story…when Covid had just sort of lifted we went to Central church for a service and Walter saw my husband and gave him the biggest hug. I admonished my husband and he said ‘Walter grabbed me, nothing I could do’. I believe that Walter loved everyone . I’m so sorry for the families loss
