
Obituary of Lawrence Vernon Bell
LAWRENCE VERNON BELL, (September 8, 1947, to February 18, 2025), passed away suddenly in his St Catharines home with family members by his side.
He is survived by his loving children Melanie (David), Suzanne, Andrew (Melika), Karen (Henry). He is a proud Grandfather to Jordan, Taylor, Hunter, Daniel, Julian, Meekah, Andrew-Maliik, Andre-Makaii, Kimora, Selena, Sonita, Adeena as well a Great-Grandfather to Jamieson. An honourary Grandfather to Mackenzie, Keyontae, Jim and Aaliyah.
He is survived by his caring sister Patricia (Errol), niece and nephew Michelle and Stephen and Grand-nephew Matthew. He is predeceased by his parents, Vernon Hiram Bell & Florence (nee Smith).
He was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica, attended St George’s College, married Ellen (nee Paterson) and migrated to Canada with their first child in 1973 and they were blessed with 3 more children. He was a jack of all trades who worked as an electrician, field technician, and was a renowned auto body repairman in Canada and Jamaica. He excelled as a competitive soccer coach and championed the advancement of the girls soccer program in Niagara.
He’ll always be remembered for his quick witted humour, his diverse passion for music, ability to create instant connections and coming to the rescue of many!
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will follow in March when our mourning has turned to merriment (details to be announced).
