Our sincere condolences to Jerry, Michael, Terry and Oksana and their families on the passing of their beloved mother. It’s been some time since our families paths have crossed but I have had the pleasure to see and speak with your mother when I have seen her at church from time to time. I remember fondly our times growing up and hanging together at the Ukrainian Black Sea Hall; whether it was Ukrainian dancing, the choir, CYM, Kolada, or working at bingo. Your mother, along with mine and others always seemed to be the chaperones on our trips abroad, trying to keep us out of trouble, sometimes succeeding. I also remember visiting your parents home in Merritton, the street name escapes me now, where we often visited and played. It also is humbling that your mother and my father were survivors of the Holodomor, something I really didn’t quite understand till having discussions with your mother and my dad. To them we owe a great debt in that they came to this country to start a better life for all of us. Again to your family from the extended Hrycusko family we send our condolences and prayers.
