WHat Are Death Certificates?
A Certified Death Certificate is necessary before anything can be done. A death certificate can be obtained through a Funeral Director. It is a good idea to obtain multiple copies of a death certificate as most agencies require a certified certificate and not a photocopy. There are two kinds of death certificates, one from the province and the other is Proof of Death from the funeral home. Our funeral home usually includes a Proof of Death as part of our service. Some services chosen by a family may not have it included so therefore there is an extra fee charged for this service. The provincial death certificate has a prescribed fee set by the province.
