ABBS, Donald George “Don”

Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the age of 78. Cherished brother to the late Jim (the late Claire), the late John Lane, Len (Carol) Lane, Lorne (Betty) Lane, Doug Lane, Mike (Angie) Lane and Marie (Paul) Roadnight. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, especially his dear friend Michelene Belleau and her family. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Evelyn Lane. Don served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 20 years and switched careers to work at Life Labs for another 20 years. A special thank you to the Staff at Niagara Gardens, the ICU Nurses, Doctors and the Chaplain from the hospital for all their care and compassion. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., from 10a.m. -12p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Words of Remembrance will follow visitation at 12p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association or to the Heart and Stroke Association.
