Obituary of Bruno Panici

PANICI, Bruno

Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Angela for 45 years and loving Dad of John (Kim). Cherished Grandpa to Liam, Owen and Eryn. He will be dearly missed by his sister Maria Rossi in Italy and many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. Predeceased by his parents Giulio and Giulia, brothers Albino, Joseph and sister Ebe. Bruno came to Canada from Italy at the age of 18 and began working on his aunt’s farm in Beamsville. He then began to operate construction machinery and contributed to the building of many structures in the Niagara Region. Bruno was known for his for his warm, quiet, generous nature. His grandchildren enjoyed countless hours with him growing cucumbers and tomatoes in his garden, making homemade pasta or baking goodies which he readily shared with all. Nobody ever left his home empty-handed! He also enjoyed many hours fishing, hunting, winemaking and telling stories of his childhood in Italy. The memories made with him will be forever cherished and he will never be forgotten. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will follow visitation in the funeral home’s Ceremony Room at 12 p.m. A Rite of Committal will follow Mass at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. Memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
