Obituary of Douglas Lewis Wesley

WESLEY, Douglas Lewis

It is with heavy hearts and much sadness, we announce the passing of Douglas Lewis Wesley on November 29th, 2017 at the NHS – St. Catharines – Dearly beloved husband of Jean and cherished father of Tyler, Heather (Marc), Moira and Kathryn – devoted Grandpa to Ashley and Meghan. Doug was born in St. Catharines, on July 19th 1945, the son of Les and Dorothy Wesley, his formative years spent here, attending Sir Winston High School. Doug entered the financial world of Banking in the capacity of the Branch Loans Officer, with Canada Trust and also with CIBC. He moved on into the Automotive Industry and was Business Manager for Brian Cullen Motors, Neil Chev Oldsmobile and Henley Honda. He gained the reputation of being the “Best Paper Hanger in the Business”, he was so well respected, and no deal was left without being thoroughly worked on and the client able to drive off in their new vehicle, satisfactorily financed. He was also a member of the St Catharines Business Mens Association. In his spare time, Doug was an avid member of Garden City Productions, spending a few years on stage, before turning to Producing and can be credited for many successful Productions. Doug was a family man, he loved to cook and his Sunday and Birthday Dinners were a tradition. He was a kind, generous man, he had a good sense of humour, full of wit – he loved animals, especially his two cats Maxx and Debo, who were “his boys”. Sadly we say good bye to this very special man – Doug you are so missed, you were one of the best. In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Guests are invited to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines for a public visitation on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 5pm-7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00am.
