Obituary of Sandra May Duffney

DUFFNEY, Sandra May (nee Snider) 

Sandy passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2017 after a very sudden illness. Mourning her loss deeply is her daughter Michelle, her grandchildren Alisha (Nathan), Shawn, Luke, Matthew, Michael, Courtney (Jay) and her great grandson, Ashton. She will be missed by her brothers Don (Judy), Doug (Laura), Barry (Donna) and their families. Sandy was a special Auntie to Carly, Jenny and Kimmi Snider. Sandy was predeceased by her daughter Lisa, her parents Wally and Marj Snider and her brother Bob. 

Sandy owned and operated The Trophy Shop in St. Catharines and was actively involved in the Ad & Sales and Kiwanis Clubs of St. Catharines, where she was the first female president. She had also volunteered for the Niagara Distress Centre and Meals on Wheels. Since retiring, Sandy enjoyed golfing with friends at Beechwood Golf & Country Club and spent the winter months in Florida. 

Visitation will be held at THE GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rankin Cancer Run or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
