MOORE, Richard “Dick”

 Passed away suddenly on July 20, 2017 at St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 70. Devoted husband of 48 years to Maura. Loving father to Andrea, Richard (Cate), and James (Sarah). Adored Papi to Alexandra, Isabelle, Nolan, Rowan, and Zak. Dear brother of May (Walter), Martha (Bob), John and James. Predeceased by his parents, John and Janet, sister Jenny, brother Alex and sister in law Mary. Dick will be missed by his many friends, nieces and nephews in Britain and Canada including his border collie pal Meara. His three loves were his family, music and golf. Moving to Canada in 1967, Dick played in a band in Hamilton. Settling in St. Catharines, he joined the Coffee Showband and was one half of the duo “Dick and Trevor”. Retired from General Motors in 2008, he turned to his love of golf.  Dick worked as a Starter at Rockway Glen and was twice Senior Champion. We will forever miss his music, his humour and his unconditional love.

Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Monday July 24, 2017 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Dick’s Life will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to St. Alfred’s Out of the Cold program or a charity of your choice.
