Obituary of Gerry McDougall

McDougall, Gerry - Surrounded by his many loving family members on Monday April 3, 2017 at the NHS - St. Catharines Site at the age of 80 years. Loving husband to Pierrette (nee Gauthier) for 56 years. Beloved dad of Luc (Sandra), Guy (Lori) and Nancy (Stephen) Bailey. Cherished Papa to Jennifer, Chantal, Ian, Jessica and Sarah. Devoted brother to Denise and Lise (Guy). Will be sadly missed by many family and close friends. Gerry was a proud member of Le Club des Bons Vivant, Men of the Holy Name Society and an avid bowler at Fairview Bowling Lanes. He worked for 15 years as a millwright at General Motors. After Gerry retired, Pierrette and he would travel together to various places and were active within the french community. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Nephrology 3rd floor department for their care and compassion. A public gathering will be held at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Paroisse Immaculee Conception, 99-101 Garnet Street, on Friday at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Association or Paroisse Immaculee Conception building fund in Gerry's honour.
