Obituary of Dr. William "Mac" Eagleson, MD; FRCSC, FRCPC

EAGLESON, William "Mac" McKinley, MD; FRCSC, FRCPC Passed away peacefully and arrived safely home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband and best friend for 66 years to Eva, who predeceased him on July 27, 2015. Loving father of Lois (Roger) Melnychuk, of B.C., Janet (Karl) Janzen, of NOTL, David (Heather) Eagleson, of Georgetown. Grandfather to David (Erika) Melnychuk, Darryl (Lindsay) Melnychuk, Karen (Kenny) Atkinson, Jennifer (Timothy) Calford, Philip (Tiffany) Janzen, Stuart (Beth) Eagleson, Cheryl (David) Green, Matthew (Kayla) Eagleson and 17 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Eunice Jemima (Winterstein) and Francis Merwin Eagleson, and his sisters Frances Greene and Ina Eagleson. Mac was a graduate of the University of Toronto School of Medicine and held two medical Fellowships, one in General Surgery and one in Dermatology. He practiced medicine with distinction, served actively as a leader in the church and community, and enjoyed many interests, including making maple syrup near Collingwood. He was also involved with the Christian Medical Society. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at the Heidehof Home, St. Catharines. In accordance with Mac's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with the George Darte Funeral Chapel (905)-937-4444. Visitation and light refreshments will be on January 15, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. following the Sunday morning service at Bethel Baptist Church, 10 Arlington Ave., St. Catharines. A Celebration of Mac's Life will follow at 1:30 p.m. A private Interment will be held at a later date. The family appreciates your expressions of sympathy and comfort.
