Franciszek Rekrut

Obituary of Franciszek Rekrut

REKRUT, Franciszek - In Honourable memory of Our Beloved Father Mr. Franciszek (Francis) Rekrut, known by His Wife's endearing name Popi, (Poppy) who was last seen looking Heavenward with a Miraculous Peaceful smile. My Father was Born December 3, 1919, in Zalesie-Czortkow District of Tarnopol, in South Eastern Poland. My Father only left His Family when they were divided by the War, WW2 in 1939. My Father was sent to a Russian Gulag, in Siberia 100 km North of the Arctic Circle. This Camp was in Vorkuta. Through God's many Mercy's and Miracle's, my Father survived against insurmountable and impossible odds. And with the Grace of God found His Family in a Camp in the cottonlands of Uzbekistan. He had enlisted back into the Polish Army (Ander's Army). My Father fought in 11 Battle's during the Italian Campaign, notably, The Battle of Monte Cassino. These Polish Soldier's left behind a message atop the Mountian of Cassino. And on the side of this mountain in the shape of a White Cross, are the Soldier's who lay at Rest for their sacrifices for us, in WW2. “For our Freedom and Yours, We Polish Soldiers have given our Souls to God,our bodies to the soil of Italy and our Hearts to Poland". My Father met and married my Mother Adele Rekrut, an Italian bride. They married in Italy 70 Years ago their Wedding Anniversary was this past June 13, 2016. My Mother passed away January 29, 2014. They will always be our Guardian Angels; we are so Blessed by God to be their Children, more than words can ever say. They are soaring higher than the eagles now and together, in God's Hand's they soar with the Angel's. God Bless, and keep you close to His heart, Love forever Sister Nushia, Brother Emile and their families, Franciszek and Adele Rekrut Family and Dear Friends. God Willing we will meet again.
