Obituary of Harry Andrew Atkins

ATKINS, Harry Andrew -P.E.O. - Born March 26,1933 Harry passed away at sunrise June 20th, 2016 with Wendy, Catherine and Kevin surrounding him with their love and overlooking his beautiful gardens. Harry leaves behind his soulmate and wife, Wendy, his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Randy Garrett, his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Colleen Atkins, and his son Harry Atkins Jr. He will be missed by his loving brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Nora Atkins, and his beautiful sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Steve Crane, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Janet Hills , sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debby and Nick Matwijenko and brother-in-law Brian Hills and their families. Also to remember him are his precious Grandchildren , Brianne and her husband Stephen Doyle, Conor, Cailin , Liam and Brendan Atkins and Great Grandsons and apples of his eyes, Aiden and Owen Doyle. Harry was predeceased by the Mother of his children, Shirley (1973) and his first born Grandson, Graham Dakin (2010). Harry retired in 1991 after a career at General Motors as Head of Engineering, then he spent his time doing the things he loved. His talents were never ending. He was a hunter, fisherman, painter, piano player , counsellor and designer of anything, but his passion was gardening. Anyone coming to visit would find him in his gardens from 8 am to 8 pm. He lived to see everything come to fruition and it brought tears to his eyes to see them completed by his neighbours, family and friends. The family would like to thank all their friends, neighbours, PSW's , nurses, family members, and all care givers that have made Harry's and Wendy's life easier the last few months. Special thanks to Dr. Broski at the St Catharines Site and all the employees of 4A and Dialysis Unit. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Ann Parish, Canboro Rd. Fenwick on Saturday June 25th,2016 at 11:00 AM . In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Covenant House. Harry would appreciate if you could celebrate his life by wearing beautiful colours to the service as he said there are too many beautiful colours in this world to wear black. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Ann Parish, Canboro Rd. Fenwick on Saturday June 25th,2016 at 11:00 AM
