Obituary of Nellie Mary Westera

WESTERA, Nellie Mary - Passed away on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 87. Beloved mother of Mark (Suzanne) Westera, Karin (Joe) Beaudry and Astrid (Greg) Taylor. Cherished Grandmother of Danielle, Breanne, and Lauren. Loving sister of Josephine Shiels and Helen Lockhead. Predeceased by her sister Mary Kopinak and her brother Eddie Luke. Mrs.Westera was a longtime member and volunteer of St. Alfred's Church. Nellie adored all her family and her many friends. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff on the 2nd Floor at the St. Catharines Hospital for all their care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, May 27th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Friday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street on Saturday, May 28th at 9:30a.m. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Society would be appreciated by the family.
