Obituary of Catherine Mary Bodogh

Our beautiful, strong and loving Mother is celebrating the beginning of her eternal life with God. On January 28, 2016 in her 87th year, Mom died at Tabor Manor in the arms of her 8 children. Catherine and her husband, the late Frank (2002) were married for over 51 years. Devoted Mother to the late Gregory (1963), Christine (Enn), Marilyn (Neil), the late Gerard (2008) (Marie), Daniel (Colette), Bernard, Michael, and Frances (Ricardo). Loving and generous Mama to 10 grandchildren, Gregory (Mary), Christopher, Trevor, Katrina, Christopher O’Connor, Samantha (Vince), Tamaira, Coulson, Grayson and Jaden. Mama had 3 great grandsons Keegan, Conor and Liam along with 2 beautiful great grand daughters Cristiana and Ariana. Catherine is survived by her sister Frances and predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Raymond, Ed, Harry, Helen, John, Theresa, Mary and Stephen. Catherine was a devoted member of St. Julia Church since its inception in 1967. Mama loved to bake her famous chocolate chip and short bread cookies, lemon chiffon and apple pies. Catherine was an avid curler and golfer at the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club in her early years. Mama worked along side Papa and all of their children at F. L. Bodogh Lumber. The happiness of her 8 children was the centre of her life. Mama taught her family how to share, forgive and most of all how to love. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the team of Tabor Manor on the First Floor for the wonderful care and compassion given towards our Mama. The Bodogh Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Monday from 2-6p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia Church on Tuesday at 11am ,251 Glenridge Avenue. Cremation will follow the church service. Private family interment will take place at a later date in Toronto. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
