Obituary of Teresa Burgio

BURGIO, Teresa - It is with heavy hearts that our family announces that our beloved Teresa passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15th, 2014 at Garden City Manor at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Pietro. Loving mother of Sam, Carmella (Joe) D'Intino, Vincy Barone (Jeff Gratton) and Josie (Steve) Tritchew. Adoring Nonna of 7 grandchildren. Cherished sister of Guiseppina(the late Paulo) Burgio and Leonarda (the late Pietro) Valla both of St. Catharines, Rosa (the late Domenico) Dimora, Giovanni (Stella) Barba, Giovanina ( the late Tomasso) Lopresti all of Sicily. Teresa will be sadly missed by many brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Garden City Manor for all their care and compassion for our Mother, as well as the Dialysis Unit-St. Catharines Hospital, Patient Transfer personnel and CCAC Home Care. A special thank you to Dr. Danny Lagrottaria for his special care and attentiveness, as well as Dr. Gruber for his many years of care. Family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street on Thursday at 11a.m.Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to the Dialysis Unit- St. Catharines General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
