LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTOR – FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT

The George Darte Funeral Chapel Inc., is the only locally family owned funeral home in St. Catharines, Ontario. We are seeking a Funeral Director Class 1 to join our team on a full time basis.

We are in search of an applicant with the following attributes and skills to complement our team:

Requirements:

  • valid Ontario Class 1 Funeral Directors Licence 
  • valid Ontario Class “G” Drivers Licence

RECEPTIONIST - PART TIME EMPLOYMENT

Shifts:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (3:30 p.m. – close)

The George Darte Funeral Home is seeking a Receptionists to perform a variety of administrative tasks and assist the families we serve. This is a front line position that requires a professional and welcoming demenour. The ideal candidate for this position has excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.  

Duties:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive to the funeral home
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Assist visitors with memorial donations
  • Send and receive fax messages
  • Process cash, credit and debit transactions
  • Receive, answer and forward emails
  • Order supplies
  • Print funeral stationery
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and materials

Requirements:

  • Work experience as receptionists, front office representative, or similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Confidence in working with computers
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Comfortable working in the bereavement setting
