LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTOR – FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT

The George Darte Funeral Chapel Inc., is the only locally family owned funeral home in St. Catharines, Ontario. We are seeking a Funeral Director Class 1 to join our team on a full time basis.

We are in search of an applicant with the following attributes and skills to complement our team:

  • experience in a full spectrum of funeral service: directing, arranging, embalming is preferred

Requirements:

  • valid Ontario Class 1 Funeral Directors Licence 
  • valid Ontario Class “G” Drivers Licence

HOST/HOSTESS & FAMILY CONCIERGE – CASUAL EMPLOYMENT

We are seeking a Host/Hostess and Family Concierge to join our team on a casual basis. 

Host/Hostess Job Description:

The Host/Hostess is responsible for hosting families and their guests during receptions following funeral services. This involves setting up all required serving items, preparing coffee and tea, and placing prepared food, drinks, and condiments out in an organized and appealing manner. During receptions, Host/Hostess's will serve families and their guests by serving and replenishing food and drinks, and clearing tables. Following these receptions, the Host/Hostess will be responsible for cleaning the reception room and all items used during the reception. 

Family Concierge Job Description: 

The Family Concierge is responsible for caring for the families we serve and their guests during visitations. This involves preparing the room prior to visitations by placing floral arrangements, family items, water, and fresh prepared cookies in the visitation room. The family concierge will also greet families and their guests, and attend to their needs throughout the visitation period. Following visitation periods, the Family Concierge will be responsible for tidying the visitation room and common areas within the funeral home.
